Trout Fishing

Taupo is world famous for its trout fishing.
The following are five flyfishing techniques used in this area:
River fishing with a guide, access by 4WD vehicle, walk to fishing pools 15-30 minutes.
Costs: $NZ 350 per half-day, $NZ 675 per day, all equipment supplied, maximum 2 persons.
River fishing with guide, rafting wilderness rivers, available from 31 December until 31 May.
Costs: $NZ 1280 per day, all equipment supplied, maximum 2 persons.
Helicopter flyfishing in remote mountain area -- very exciting, very expensive.
Costs: helicopter and guide $NZ 2000 per day, all equipment supplied, maximum 2 persons.
Flyfishing from anchored boat on Lake Taupo and other small lakes.
Costs: boat and guide $NZ 120 per hour, minimum 4 hours, maximum 3 persons.
